Infratil are an infrastructure investment company that actively invests in ideas that matter. In things that societies need now and will need more of in the future. In things that keep society going and connected, like renewable electricity, data centres and telecommunications networks. In things we need more of as we age, like diagnostic technology that detects illness early.
Everyone Studio (FKA Cato Brand Partners) approached me to create visuals for Infratil’s annual report for 2023. The brief was to create some visuals to help convey Infratil’s global scale, as well as the connectivity between their investments around the world.
Portfolio Overview:

The first image created was a world map covering their Portfolio overview. The use of stylised flight map here was useful in the communication of interconnectedness and scale, as well as providing an informational graphic for readers who are unaware of Infratil’s investments and ownership.
The power of connecting to the future

An interconnected future seems closer than ever today, we’re more connected than ever via the lens of technology. The rise of digital technology has revolutionised the way we connect with each other as well as how we access information around the world. The power of global connectivity, the internet and other digital platforms has opened up opportunities for communication, collaboration and innovation – allowing people to connect from several hundreds of kilometres away.
When Infratil first invested in CDC Data Centres in 2016, digital assets were less than 15% of the portfolio. Digital assets now comprise over 50% of Infratil’s assets. Infratil wanted this to be highlighted as they become more and more future-proofed.
Delivering sustainable returns to investors

Infratil has a large sector based around sustainability for their customers, brand partners and themselves. Shots of the Wellington Airport and a wind turbine have been digitally enhanced to create the long exposure style of photography we see. Here, the Wellington Airport, and a wind turbine have been painted over to create the “long exposure” style of photography we see, which conveys relation to movement, sustainability and interconnectedness.
The power of connecting with our communities

This final image relates to Infratil’s healthcare sector.
The use of a CT scan stylised brain is combined with the system of interconnected lines. Technology and its recent advancements have an increasingly important role to play in shaping how healthcare professionals deliver essential services, while helping practitioners remain connected with the communities they serve. Harnessing the power of technology will help deliver more efficient and equitable outcomes across healthcare systems globally, which are both under-resourced and under pressure.
